Daniele Rustioni conductor
Beatrice Rana piano

BRAHMS Piano Concerto No.1 Op.15
BEETHOVEN Symphony No.6 Op.68 Pastoral Symphony

This season finishes with Daniele Rustioni who has signed a contract for the ORT for another three years. Beethoven’s Sinfonia No. 6 op.68 Pastorale immerses listeners in a proliferation of naturalistic images (birds chirping, flowing rivers, thunder and lightning of a thunderstorm, final prayer to the deity), although the composer pointed out that it was not so much of a sound painting, as many judged it, as the expression of a feeling, man’s communion with creation. The soloist of the evening is the Italian pianist, Beatrice Rana. She is twenty-four years old and has already been made knight by the President of the Republic. incensed by critics and audience, a busy schedule with the fourth gear, as a soloist, cameraman and all the orchestra (between Rome and Philadelphia, Paris and Tokyo, directed by Mehta, Chailly, Pappano, Luisi, Conlon). Under his hands, Op.15 that Brahms wanted to model as a symphony, but dissatisfied with the outcome turned into Concerto.
