Alessandro Carbonare clarinet

IVES The Unanswered Question (1930-35)
COPLAND Clarinet Concerto (1948)
SCHUBERT Symphony No.3 D.200

Watching, above all, America, the program by George Pehlivanian, a cosmopolitan Armenian-born artist born in Lebanon, who grew up in Los Angeles. Today he is a professor between Paris and Madrid. Ives, the insurer who wrote music in his free time, and Copland, the singer of the New Deal rooseveltian then communist sympathizer, represent the highest level of American music in the first half of the twentieth century. Ives is the founder. The mysterious and metaphysical Unanswered Question raises the question of existence: a trumpet, located far from the other instrumentalists, puts many times on everyone, to them and to the public, a crucial question that every human being has always asked. Why were they born? And to what end it has to be in the world. The Copland Concert (entrusted to Alessandro Carbonare, the first clarinet of the Santa Cecilia Orchestra) is a commission of jazzist Benny Goodman succumbed to Brazilian jazz and folklore. Then he goes back and in the Old Continent with the Third Symphony, a 18-year-old Schubert who idolizes Haydn and Mozart.
