The Teatro Verdi in Florence opens the New Year with a vibrant and elegant New Year’s Concert, thanks to the Orchestra della Toscana, which returns as the protagonist of a now unmissable event for music lovers. Under the direction of Gianna Fratta, the programme promises a journey from opera to operetta, a celebration of the voices and intense emotions that this repertoire can offer.

Gianna Fratta, one of the most appreciated conductors on the international scene, will lead the orchestra through the different nuances of the composers on the programme. Known for her precise gestures and great charisma, Fratta manages to convey a passion to her orchestra that is reflected in every note. Her interpretative sensitivity and her ability to explore the deepest emotions in music will make this first concert of 2025 unforgettable. Alongside her, two exceptional voices will perform on stage: soprano Daniela Cappiello and tenor Reinaldo Droz.

The programme is a mosaic of great names; it starts with the dramatic intensity of Verdi and moves towards the lighter atmospheres of Offenbach‘s and Lehár’s operettas, touching on the evocative melodies of Tchaikovsky. The originality of the concert is completed with the refined homage to the Italian music of Boccherini revisited by Luciano Berio, a dialogue between classicism and modernity that will surprise the audience. And there will be no shortage of moments of rhythm and brilliance with the timeless Leonard Bernstein, whose style imbued with energy and modernity will give the concert a fresh touch.
