    Sound masks, stylistic games, and transforming rhythms. The ORT’s Carnival Concert stops at La Città del Teatro in Cascina with a program that crosses musical boundaries and feeds on sound disguises: Argentine tango, Italian melodrama, Brazilian colors, and a distinctly festive vein. Conducting is Roberto Molinelli, an eclectic musician and brilliant arranger, known for his work in classical music, jazz, songwriting, and popular genres.

    The title Carnevale Reloaded is a statement of intent: tradition is overturned, winter is tinged with summer, opera is disguised as urban dance. From Vivaldi to Piazzolla, from Verdi to Vinicius de Moraes, via Bernstein’s Mambo and an ironic Paganini with a samba twist, the program alternates between reworked masterpieces and original pieces by Molinelli himself.

    More than a concert, it is an overwhelming theatrical experience: dynamic, ironic, surprising. The sound of the ORT is transformed to give life to a musical show where anything can happen, in the spirit of celebration and reinvention.
