The Teatro degli Animosi in Marradi hosts a concert that compares two musical visions of the nineteenth century: on the one hand, the formal elegance of the Viennese school; on the other, the expressive and dramatic force of French classicism.

On the podium is Diego Ceretta, principal conductor of the ORT and protagonist of a particularly intense season. The program opens with Ludwig van Beethoven‘s Concerto No. 3 in C minor for piano and orchestra, Op. 37, composed between 1800 and 1803: a transitional work, suspended between Haydn’s legacy and the affirmation of a personal style, in which lyricism and tension coexist in perfect balance.

At the piano is Martina Consonni, a young Italian talent with an international career, known for the expressive depth and lucidity of her interpretations.

The evening closes with Luigi Cherubini‘s Symphony in D major (1815), a compact and vigorous piece that blends contrapuntal rigor and theatrical drama, far from Rossini’s lightness and testimony to an autonomous and intense aesthetic.
