    Under the baton of Diego Ceretta, the Orchestra della Toscana presents a programme featuring two essential masterpieces of the symphonic repertoire. Modest Petrovič Musorgskij’s Pictures at an Exhibition, in Maurice Ravel’s famous orchestration, takes the audience on an imaginative journey through music and the visual arts, where each movement gives voice to a different painting. The concert concludes with Ravel’s Boléro, built upon a persistent rhythm and a gradual orchestral crescendo that have made it one of the most recognisable and beloved compositions of the 20th century. An event that highlights the orchestra’s extraordinary tonal palette and the power of music to evoke images, emotions and soundscapes.

    Musica Diffusa, the ORT’s music festival that takes over all five districts of Florence, forms part of AUTUNNO FIORENTINO, organised by the City of Florence with the support of the Directorate-General for the Performing Arts of the Ministry of Culture.
    It is organised in collaboration with Fondazione Solidarietà Caritas ETS Firenze. We would like to thank Fondazione Leopolda, Comunità di San Leolino – Certosa di Firenze and Fondazione Teatro della Toscana for their hospitality.
