Luka Hauser conducts the Orchestra della Toscana in a programme that brings together two masterpieces from the great 20th-century symphonic repertoire. The concert opens with Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30, by Richard Strauss, the monumental symphonic poem inspired by Nietzsche’s work, renowned for its majestic introduction and the extraordinary expressive power of its orchestral writing. This is followed by The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky (1919 version), a suite taken from the famous ballet that captivates with its rich timbre, rhythmic dynamism and fairy-tale atmosphere. A concert celebrating two milestones of 20th-century music, capable of combining spectacle, innovation and depth.

Musica Diffusa, the ORT’s music festival that takes place across all five districts of Florence, forms part of AUTUNNO FIORENTINO, organised by the Municipality of Florence with the support of the Directorate-General for the Performing Arts of the Ministry of Culture.
It is organised in collaboration with Fondazione Solidarietà Caritas ETS Firenze. Our thanks go to Fondazione Leopolda, Comunità di San Leolino – Certosa di Firenze and Fondazione Teatro della Toscana for their hospitality.

You can make a DONATION online and/or at the collection points set up during the concerts to provide a hot meal for those most in need, in support of the Caritas soup kitchens, in collaboration with Fondazione Solidarietà Caritas.
