  • Parri at the head of Federvivo

An important appointment for the general director of the ORT

Parri’s new position was made official at the AGIS headquarters today in Rome. One of his first commitments will be to develop “an ongoing and productive relationship between the various components of the performing arts sector, while ensuring direct contact with the institutions and the new executive.”

Marco Parri, general director of the ORT, is the new chair of Federvivo, a federation that acts as the main representative for the performing arts sector as part of the AGIS – Associazione Generale Italiana dello Spettacolo. The election took place today in Rome. Parri succeeds Filippo Fonsatti, who had guided the federation since its foundation in 2016.

During his first speech as chair, after thanking the members for their belief in him and Filippo Fonsatti for his work over the last few years, Parri set out the guidelines that he intends to pursue: they include an ongoing and fruitful relationship between the various components of the performing arts sector and direct contact with the institutions and the new executive to resolve the most pressing issues within the sector, first and foremost the high energy price, and to address the decrees for the implementation of the performing arts law.

Born in Florence, with a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Urbino, Marco Parri is currently also chair of the national Istituzioni Concertistico Orchestrali (ICO) association. Over the course of his career, he has held various institutional and top management positions in both Tuscany and across Italy, has been a lecturer at the University of Florence and has worked with and directed important Tuscan festivals and theatres.

The Fondazione ORT would like to send its very best wishes to the new chair.
