    The program of this concert celebrates the beauty of the chamber music of Luigi Boccherini, a composer who combined elegance and virtuosity with an extraordinary ability to evoke sound images. We begin with the Quintet No.5 for strings op.11 G.275, a work that stands out for its refined writing and the depth of the emotions expressed. Its melodies, sinuous and full of grace, paint a soundscape in which the intimacy of chamber music is mixed with the harmonic richness typical of Boccherini.

    The second part of the programme takes us to the Quintet No.6 for strings op.30 G.324, also known as La musica notturna delle strade di Madrid. This piece, one of Boccherini’s most famous compositions, is a true soundscape that captures the vibrant atmosphere of Madrid’s nights, with their noise of carriages, distant voices and the rustle of the streets. Through his musical writing, Boccherini makes us experience a nocturnal Madrid of real and imaginary sounds, creating a fascinating fusion of music and scene. Two quintets that transport us to the heart of Boccherini’s music, full of sensations and timeless beauty.
