The concert opens with Hide in Orchestra by Giovanni Sollima, one of today’s most original composers and cellists. The work plays on the fusion of orchestral timbres, creating a flow of sound in which the soloist – Klara Wincor on cello – hides and re-emerges among the voices of the ensemble, in a continuous, enveloping dialogue.

Haydn‘s Cello Concerto No. 1 follows, long lost and only rediscovered in 1961. Virtuosic and brilliant, it alternates moments of lyricism and vivacity, highlighting the Austrian composer’s typical elegance, lightness and irony, enhanced by the young soloist’s performance.

The evening closes with Beethoven‘s Symphony No. 1, the first step on a path that would revolutionise the symphonic genre. Although still bound to the world of Haydn and Mozart, this page already shows the momentum, strength and personality of the young Beethoven, with impetuous accents and surprising strokes of genius.

On the podium, Aram Khacheh leads the orchestra in a programme that spans centuries and styles, between experimentation, virtuosity and revolution.
