For its 2025 Christmas concert, the Orchestra della Toscana will inaugurate a special evening at the Teatro Garibaldi in Figline with a programme that combines lightness, expressive intensity and great classical architecture. On the podium is the promising young Nicolò Jacopo Suppa, a conductor already acclaimed in major Italian theatres for his clear and engaging conducting style. Alongside him is cellist Ettore Pagano, one of the most interesting voices on the new instrumental scene, capable of blending warm tone and natural interpretation.

The programme opens with the effervescent irony of Rossini’s overture to Il signor Bruschino, followed by Tchaikovsky‘s Andante cantabile, an intimate and intense piece transcribed by the composer himself from his first string quartet, in which the cello sings with lyrical depth.

This is followed by Stravinsky‘s Suite italienne No. 1: a refined homage to 18th-century music, with themes (often attributed to Pergolesi) revisited with elegance and modern spirit. The concert closes with Mozart’s majestic Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter”, a summation of formal balance and inventiveness, ideal for bidding farewell to the year with energy, intelligence and beauty.
