In the Cenacolo di Sant’Apollonia, home to Andrea del Castagno’s powerful Last Supper, music meets an austere and solemn space where painting and architecture create a scene of great narrative power.

The concert is dedicated to Luigi Boccherini, a composer from Lucca who spent many years at the court of Madrid, whose string quintets blend Italian grace with Iberian colors. The famous quintet La musica notturna delle strade di Madrid evokes the city’s evening life amid bells, processions, and serenades: a small sonic theater that, in the silence of the cenacle, takes on an almost cinematic quality.
