The series concludes in the cloister of the Museum of San Marco, a luminous space where Renaissance architecture creates a balance of proportion and silence.
The full Orchestra della Toscana, conducted by Sieva Borzak with Enrico Ruberti on double bass, opens the evening with the overture from Prometheus’s Creatures by Beethoven. The centerpiece is Franz Anton Hoffmeister’s Double Bass Concerto No. 1, a brilliant virtuoso piece, while the finale features Haydn’s Symphony No. 86, rich in energy and invention.
A festive finale for a series that has transformed several locations in Renaissance Florence into venues for live music.
