At the Villa Medicea La Ferdinanda, music intertwines with the grand history of the Medici villas, in an evening that focuses on the interplay between theatrical energy, classical brilliance and solo virtuosity.

On the podium, Sieva Borzak conducts the Orchestra della Toscana, with Enrico Ruberti as solo double bassist, in a programme that explores three distinct interpretations of European classicism.

Beethoven’s overture The Creatures of Prometheus opens with dramatic momentum and theatrical vitality, whilst Hoffmeister’s Double Bass Concerto No. 1 highlights the instrument’s more melodious and surprisingly agile side, combining brilliance with lightness. To conclude, Haydn’s Symphony No. 86 showcases the full maturity of classical symphonic music, with formal elegance and subtle irony.

A compact, intermission-free concert, part of the tenth edition of Ville e Giardini incantati, where the classical repertoire engages with the unique setting of the Medici villas.
