Set against the timeless charm of the Baratti and Populonia Archaeological Park, Luigi Piovano conducts the Orchestra della Toscana in a programme inspired by nature, the landscape and the evocative power of Romantic music. From the ethereal and visionary atmospheres of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s The Hebrides — born from memories of the Scottish coastline and the ceaseless movement of the sea — to Ludwig van Beethoven’s famous Symphony No. 6, ‘Pastoral’, the concert takes the audience on a musical journey through tranquillity, natural landscapes and poetic imagery.

The music thus intertwines with the beauty of the setting, in an evening that brings together history, archaeology and the great symphonic repertoire under the summer sky.

An event organised as part of the 20Eventi Piombino Festival.
