At the Villa Medicea in Poggio a Caiano, the evening strikes a balance between architectural elegance and musical clarity, with a programme that explores European classicism through a variety of musical languages and styles.

On the podium, Sieva Borzak conducts the Orchestra della Toscana, with Enrico Ruberti as solo double-bassist, in a performance that alternates between theatrical momentum, virtuosity and full symphonic maturity.

Beethoven’s ‘The Creatures of Prometheus’ Overture opens with energy and dramatic tension, followed by Hoffmeister’s Double Bass Concerto No. 1, which highlights the solo part with brilliance and natural cantabile. Haydn’s Symphony No. 86 concludes the programme with formal balance, transparency and that subtle irony that characterises his more mature symphonic writing.

A concert without an interval, part of the tenth edition of Ville e Giardini incantati, where the classical repertoire engages in dialogue with the timeless charm of the Medici villas.
