    As part of the Sagra Musicale Umbra and in collaboration with the Fondazione Perugia Musica Classica, the Orchestra della Toscana returns to perform at the Auditorium di San Francesco al Prato with a programme that combines lyrical intensity and formal brilliance. On the podium is Diego Ceretta, conducting a concert featuring violinist Ilya Gringolts, who interprets Robert Schumann‘s rare and visionary Concerto in D minor.

    Opening the evening is Mendelssohn‘s ‘Die schöne Melusine’ overture, an evocative page inspired by the legend of the siren, while closing is Luigi Cherubini‘s Symphony in D major, a composition with a classical and theatrical impetus. An appointment that renews the dialogue between the romantic repertoire and contemporary sensibility.
