    The Orchestra della Toscana is proud to perform at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, one of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, for an Easter concert conducted by its principal conductor, Diego Ceretta.

    Alexandra Conunova will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 64, one of the most beloved works in the Romantic violin repertoire, characterised by formal balance, a continuous musical flow and intense expressiveness. The solo part gets straight to the heart of the work, with a composition that combines elegance and expressive tension.

    The programme continues in the spirit of Ludwig van Beethoven with the overture from The Creatures of Prometheus, Op. 43, taken from the ballet composed for Vienna in 1801.

    The concert concludes with Symphony No. 8, Op. 93, a compact and brilliant work in which Beethoven reinterprets certain aspects of the classical tradition with freedom and irony, bringing to a close an evening that celebrates the ORT’s presence in one of the temples of international music.
