An Easter event marked by virtuosity and lightness: at the Galleria dei Giganti di Peccioli, the ORT presents a concert highlighting two masterpieces of classicism, chosen for their brilliance, originality and communicative power. On the podium is the young South Korean conductor Min Gyu Song, winner of the prestigious Cantelli Prize in 2024, now one of the most highly regarded emerging names in European concert halls, thanks to his precise, fluid and musically inspired conducting.

The programme opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart‘s Concerto No. 5 in A major, K. 219, famous for its final movement in “alla turca” style, with exotic accents and theatrical inventions. Composed when he was only nineteen, it is one of the most vital and communicative pieces in his catalogue. The violin soloist is Simon Zhu, born in 2001, winner of the 2023 Paganini Competition, a young performer who combines impeccable technique with expressive depth.

The concert will close with Ludwig van Beethoven‘s Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93, a short, compact and surprisingly ironic work, rich in rhythmic inventions and subtle deviations from the classical canon. A perfect end to the Easter season, combining energy and refinement.
