Two intense pieces from the nineteenth century, both linked to an idea of spirituality. BrahmsConcerto No. 1 in D minor, originally conceived as a symphony, becomes here an intense dialogue between piano and orchestra, dramatic and deeply human.

The concert will be performed at the Teatro Sociale in Mantua, in an evening that combines power and introspection.

The solo part is entrusted to Marie-Ange Nguci, a French-Albanian pianist born in 1998, known for her surprising maturity and powerful musical expression.

On the podium is Hossein Pishkar, an Iranian conductor and winner of the Deutscher Dirigentenpreis, who is active in Germany and Europe with a repertoire that favours depth and structure.

The concert closes with Felix Mendelssohn‘s Symphony No. 5 in D major, Op. 107 “Reformation”, a tribute to Protestantism and Luther’s chorale Ein feste Burg. A symphony designed to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Augsburg Confession, combining tension, transparency and liturgical solemnity.
