Following the exceptional response to bookings for the concert celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Orchestra della Toscana, scheduled for Wednesday 10 September at 9 p.m. in the Basilica of Santa Croce, the ORT Foundation and the Opera di Santa Croce are pleased to announce an extraordinary repeat performance for Tuesday 11 September at 9 p.m.

The Basilica of Santa Croce will be the evocative setting for a special concert by the Orchestra della Toscana, conducted by its principal conductor Diego Ceretta, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the ORT’s first concert.

The programme includes two masterpieces from the sacred repertoire: Luigi Cherubini‘s Marche religieuse and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart‘s Requiem in D minor, K. 626, performed by the Orchestra, the Harmonia Cantata choir prepared by Raffaele Puccianti, and a vocal cast composed of Francesca Pia Vitale (soprano), Eleonora Filipponi (mezzo-soprano), Dave Monaco (tenor) and Francesco Leone (bass).

The concert, outside the usual symphonic season, was conceived as a gesture of thanks and sharing with the public and the local community, which have accompanied the ORT on its journey for 45 years.

Admission is free with reservation, available on the Opera di Santa Croce website. A maximum of two tickets per person can be reserved.

An event of great musical and symbolic value, which renews the deep bond between the Orchestra della Toscana, the city and its community.
