    The most famous puppet in the world climbs onto the stage in a new edition. “Pinocchio: The Story of a Puppet” is the new Italian opera composed in 2020 by Aldo Tarabella, composer and director who has signed titles such as “A Tram Called Arlecchino”, a show that made history in the activities that the ORT has always devoted to teaching. The new show by Tarabella, with a libretto by Valerio Valoriani, which debuted in October 2022 in Lucca, will be in Florence for the first time, and on the stage of the Verdi Theater, recapturing a modern opera, but one full of amusing quotations from different musical genres: the blues and rhythm n’ blues with Lucignolo and the Land of Toys, the incredible rapping of Jiminy Cricket, the tarantella form that constantly follows Pinocchio, the musical fanfares for the Mangiafuoco/Fire Eater puppets. All of this in order to tell, with great playfulness and imagination, … the story of the adventures of Pinocchio.
